TED HAGGARD'S RELATIONSHIPS

The background on Ted Haggard was that he was a pastor that preached about how he was against homosexual relations. But, it turns out that on the side of his preaching and marriage of thirty years, he himself was caught having a homosexual relationship. Ted Haggard's argument was that he apologizes about the whole thing, and ever being against homosexual relations . Ted "engaged in this inappropriate relationship with twenty-year-old male volunteer, Grant Haas." Grant Haas is the man that Ted had a relationship on the side, of his wife, Gail.

Haggard expostulated, "He acknowledged that his actions were hypocritical, but said he could not control his urges" (Haggard 9). Ted Haggard attempts to obtain the audiences sympathy by saying that he was truly sorry about saying that it is wrong to have homosexual relationships. He also adds that he could not help himself by having that homosexual relations on the side. Haggard clamored,"However, he said he has been undergoing therapy during the two years since and working it out" (Haggard 2). He thinks by saying that he has been going to a therapist for two years will eliminate the past wrongdoings, but others don't think the same.

In my opinion I think Ted Haggard is not believable or trustworthy because he comes out being a minister that preaches about the wrong doings of anyone being homosexual. Even though Ted is having fun on the side with Grant Haas, it was a terrible thing of him to speak out about the ones that might have a homosexual relationships, because who is he to tell others who to love and not to love.
